3 The Advanced Window
Unless your usage of recordMyDesktop is very simple, you will probably need to visit the Advanced window at least once, in order to better customize the behavior of the program. You will also need to visit it, if you plan to record sound using the JACK audio server.
The majority of options found in this window correspond directly to the command line options, present in recordMyDesktop. There are a couple of exceptions though, that are used to configure the behavior of the frontend and do not affect the backend in any way.
All options in this window are applied when you close it. If you start a recording and the “advanced” window is open, it will close itself and any changes you've made will immediately be applied to your current session.
